The electrification of transportation in Quebec and everywhere else in Canada is no longer a daring and distant plan. As the industry progresses well, electric battery “packs”, the heart of the electric vehicle, continue to bring their challenges.
Indeed, it is known that temperature has an impact on the performance of batteries. Our team of engineers, experts in the field of thermal management, investigated the question as part of a project aimed at a first prototype of generation zero (“gen. 0”) with a partner.
It is therefore with pride that we share the good news with our community; the tests carried out, on the road and in winter conditions, have been very promising. This first prototype, which allows thermal management of the electric battery in a retrofitted “pick-up” type vehicle with electric propulsion, will certainly guide the development of our next generation of prototype. In addition, we would like to acknowledge the exceptional work of our engineering team who continue to perform tests under extreme conditions for lithium-ion technology.
This is a first decisive step for our start-up since it allows us to consider the implementation of our technology in heavy vehicles of all sizes and vice versa. This achievement also rewards our hard work.
